Our mission and values
To improve the quality of life of the vulnerable population in Gambia - that is our mission. Through projects regarding health, education and agriculture, Irmakunda is trying to raise the quality of the people who need it most. Projects with a lasting impact is what we strive for.
Our organization was founded by Patricia Sawaneh, who came to Gambia almost 30 years ago and her heart never left. After running a successful school that was an example to many schools in Gambia, she has been very active in all sorts of projects. During these years Irmakunda has gained access to a national as well as international network of like-minded people which allows many different projects to be a success. Nowadays, Irmakunda is a professional organization which has her home base near Banjul from which most operations are coordinated.
