Irmakunda Swimming Academy
Every year, many Gambians, especially children, that like to enjoy the beaches and the ocean, drown as a consequence of not knowing how to swim.
Through the Irmakunda Swimming Academy children learn how to swim and play in the ocean safely.
Together with Abdel Kadere, an experienced swimming instructor and professional swimmer in the national competition of Senegal, we will try to create awareness that a few swimming lessons can safe lives.
We have a special Sponsor program with reduced prices if you like to help children to learn to swim.
The Irmakunda Swimming Academy is open for both children and adults.
Tulip Water FiltersAccess to clean water
Access to clean drinking water is one of the most urgent problems in Gambia. Long distances and water quality make it hard for many people to provide themselves and their families safe water. Together with Basic Water Needs, Irmakunda wants to distribute water filters to provide easy access to safe drinking water.
How the water filter works :
Pour dirty, polluted water in the top bucket and after it has passed the innovative filter that is devloped in the Netherlands, pure and healthy drinking water is available. It only takes a few minutes to enter the bottom bucket.
